Wrapped Up $8k for Charity

Cherry Lane Shopping Centre invited the local chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society to head up the gift wrap program during the month of December. With the support of hundreds of volunteers and the amazing generosity of the South Okanagan Community, the local Penticton Unit ran a very successful Gift Wrap program here at Cherry Lane Shopping Centre during the month of December.

Over $8,000 was raised for the Canadian Cancer Society with 1,250 gifts wrapped. The total funds generated will be split with 50% to the Society’s Camp Good Times in Maple Ridge, BC, (a summer camp where children affected by cancer can enjoy a fun, supportive atmosphere and make happy memories). The remaining 50% will further the Society’s mission of eradicating cancer by investing in innovative cancer research that results in better treatments and vital information on how to prevent cancer before it starts. Thank you to everyone who had their gifts wrapped and donated to this worthy cause!
